riding lessons
At LTD Performance Horses, our lessons are built on ethical, foundation-first horsemanship, helping riders become confident, capable partners for their horses both in the arena and out on the trail.
Program Update:
Currently Accepting: Riders With Their Own Horse
At this time, I’m only accepting students who have their own horse (hauled in or kept on-site, depending on your setup).
I’m not currently enrolling students who need to ride a lesson horse, as we’ve had to make a stewardship-based shift and retire some of our program horses.
My hope is to reopen limited lesson-horse spots in the near future. If you’d like, you can join the waiting list and I’ll reach out when those openings return.
Youth & Adult Sessions – $45 per session
We intentionally use the word “session” rather than “riding lesson,” because we believe horsemanship is so much more than what happens in the saddle.
Our program focuses on total horse understanding — developing both the rider and the horse through thoughtful, foundation-first work.
Students learn:
• Grooming & proper horse care
• Safe tacking & untacking
• Groundwork & in-hand communication
• Under-saddle development (when appropriate)
• Reading horse behavior & body language
• Problem solving & partnership building
Sometimes sessions are fully under saddle.
Sometimes they are groundwork-focused.
Both are equally valuable.
We believe that to ride these magnificent animals well, we must first understand them deeply.
Life Skills Built Through Horsemanship
Working with horses teaches far more than riding. Our sessions cultivate:
• Leadership
• Communication
• Accountability
• Emotional regulation
• Self-awareness
• Confidence
• Patience
• Persistence
And physically:
• Balance
• Coordination
• Timing
• Body control
Horsemanship shapes character in and out of the arena.
