Horses don’t need louder riders.
They need thoughtful humans.
Walk in Their Hooves is a hands-on monthly horsemanship clinic designed to help youth and women understand the horse, not just how to ride one.
This is not a typical riding lesson.
This series focuses on empathy, communication, stewardship and foundational groundwork skills that create safer, softer, more confident partnerships.
Because good horsemanship starts long before you ever swing a leg over.
What Makes This Different?
Each month explores a specific theme that helps participants see the world from the horse’s perspective.
Examples include:
• Understanding how tack fit affects comfort
• Reading equine body language
• Leadership vs. control
• Timing and feel in pressure & release
• Herd dynamics and social structure
• Ethical stewardship and recognizing when a horse says “enough”
This clinic is interactive and experiential, not lecture-based.
Participants don’t just hear about empathy.
They experience it.
What Participants Will Do
• Engage in guided empathy exercises
• Learn how horses think and respond
• Practice foundational groundwork skills
• Develop clarity, timing, and calm leadership
• Build confidence through understanding
The goal is not dominance.
The goal is partnership.
